Shillong, Sept 26: Today at around 8 AM, Satyanarayan garment shop, and partially JB Textiles garment shop,Police Bazar was set ablaze by miscreants before the start of the office picketing called by the pro ILP activists.
The owner of Satyanarayan garment shop, Guru Prasad Chaukhani was also assaulted by the miscreants before throwing petrol bomb into the shop was then rushed to the city Civil Hospital.
According to Superintendent of Police (City) Vivek Syiem, around 5 boys came with a small jerrycan of petrol and burn the shops.
The damage is estimated to be around 35 to 40 lacs. Vivek Syiem said the case of arson has been registered against the miscreants and police are trying their best to identify the boys who not only assaulted Guru Prasad but also threw petrol bomb into the shop.(SP News)
