Shillong, Nov 01: The chief minister of Meghalalya today while launching “The Meghalaya regulation of landlord and verification of tenant bills, 2013” said that since the inception of the state various government has tried it’s best to deal with influx and illegal immigration.
The Chief Minister in his speeches has clearly define the issued of influx. He said influx mean when people area coming from with the country and illegal immigration are people coming from others countries who tried to settle in our state.
The sixth schedule, that the state have, is also part of the system in checking influx with the mechanism that we have in the traditional institution, the local dorbar, but this mechanisms was not in place in all over the state.
The chief minister mention that certain pressure group said that only ILP can check influx, but the state government said no, there are others mechanism in dealing with.
The chief minister clearly state that this was “ we launched today is only a draft bill, not even a proposed bills”. Let hope that better ideas will come out from these process of consultation so that what is done to day will be for the better of the future genenration.
The chief adviser to the government DD Lapang in his speeches said that nod doubt that influx and illegal immigration as a sensitive issued and the local people need protection, otherwise will be swam away by others.
The intention of the NGO that influx should be stop is no doubt that they have made their genuine call, but from the government also has tried it best to settle the issued, so from these consultation will emerge the best mechanism how to dealt with it.
