The NGO’s call 36 hours bandh to put pressure on the govt to implement ILP

Shillong, Dec 08: The Genenral Secretary of the  FKJGP Central body Mr Wellbirth Rani in a press statement issued to the media house today said that the NGO’s in the meeting has decided to call 36 hours  bandh which will start from 5.00 Am on the 10th  to 5.00 pm on the 11th  evening of this month,The bandh will be effective in the entire khasi Hills District, except Garo Hills.

In Garo Hills on the 10th and 11th there will be a night road blocked on theses two days. The Night road blocked in garo Hills will start from 8.00 pm to 5.00 am in the morning said the general secretary of the FKJGP on the press statement.

These will be follow by the state wide office picketing on the 13th   in the entire state. The NGO’s  has intensified the agitation demanding from the state government to implement the inner Line Permit in the state of Meghalaya.

The NGO’s castigate the letter that was sent from Mr Sambhu Singh the Joint secretary home affair who is looking after north East ,government of India to the state government saying that ILP cannot be implemented in the state of Meghalaya. The NGO’s said that the letter is misleading  the public on the Bengal Eastern Frontier Regulation Act  1873, the NGO’s claim that these act is still excist till today, ILP in Meghalaya is there what need is a notification from the state government. Referring to Manipur the NGO;s said that ILP was not there earlier   in that state so they need central government approval but not the case with Meghalaya.

The NGO’s appeal to the public to gave them the support in their demand for implementation of the ILP in the state of Meghalaya, said  the Genenral Secretary of the  FKJGP central Body Mr  Willberth  Rani.(SP News)
