Home Minister as the press, while reporting should not be bias

Shillong, Nov 17: The Meghalaya Home Minister Roshan Warjri while addressing the press person on the concluding session on the National press day she said that the press while reporting should not be bias.

She even go further by saying that  the press has not only have the freedom, along with this freedom should also have their responsibility, since  their is  communal friction, religious friction, national secularism, looking to all these once need to have to introspect.

She also charge the press in Meghalaya that they done little researched to fine out the fact. She also said that their are some write up which is so sensational in the headline but while reading is not true.

Paul Lyngdoh in his speech said that today there is luck of confidence, in the political, Media, the NGO and even in the religion. He said “ we all need to resist from keeping fishing rot to the media, neutrality of the media is the need of the hours and monopoly in the  media will bring destruction”.

The MLA of the Shillong west Constituency at present news papers has become views paper. The urged the press to present in their writing about the fact and figers  after keeping the fact let the readers decide.

The additional chief secretary BPO Warjri said that the press hold democratic  responsibility, the media should remember that  they served the public and not the powerful one, they should have the fair mind set maintaining  truth.(SP News)
