Shillong, Dec 19: Attention of the Government has been drawn to a news item that appeared in one of the English daily from Shillong stating that the “CS violates GAD norms” where certain incorrect inferences have been made without verifying the factual position with the concerned authorities.
The government press statement issue today clarified for general information of all that Shri W.M.S. Pariat, IAS is not in occupation of the official Quarter of the Chief Secretary at Bivar Road. In fact, he is staying in his own house in Mawlai, Nonglum. Hence, the House Rent-cum-Maintenance Allowances of `16,000/- as mentioned in the said news item is admissible to him as per the relevant rules.
