Shillong, August 11: The National Law University of Meghalaya (NLU Meghalaya) hosted the “Trilegal Partners Interactive Workshop Session” on 8th August 2026, at the Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Auditorium, providing students with valuable exposure to practical legal practice and career opportunities.
The workshop featured Ms. Monika Bhonsale, Mr. Nitesh Jain, and Ms. Shalaka Patil, Partners at Trilegal, who conducted interactive sessions on Real Estate Law, Commercial Disputes, and Arbitration.
A key takeaway from the sessions was the importance ofstrategic thinking in dispute resolution. Students were encouraged to understand that legal practice is not limited to litigation and that lawyers often must develop strategies to resolve disputes without necessarily proceeding to court.
The discussion also highlighted the growing relevance of specialised tribunals and the importance of developing a strong foundation in law during law school. The speakers also emphasised the value of internships and practical exposure, encouraging students to learn from practising lawyers and gain a better understanding of the application of law in professional settings.
The programme concluded with an Interactive Q&A, followed by closing remarks, a vote of thanks, group photography and informal networking. The workshop reflected NLU Meghalaya’s commitment to experiential learning, professional engagement and preparing students for the realities of legal practice.
