Continuing our recruitment reforms, Cabinet has approved the discontinuation of interviews for recruitment to non-technical Group C posts in the Government of Meghalaya, effective from 1 January 2027.

Technical Group C posts will continue to have interviews as applicable, with the Personnel Department to notify the list of technical and non-technical posts.

The Government will conduct training for the concerned officials and subsequently extend these SOPs to other recruitment bodies as well. These reforms are aimed at making government recruitment simpler, fairer and more transparent.
The Cabinet has approved the purchase of land in South West Khasi Hills for the creation of a district land bank. The approved site comprises approximately 15 acres of land at Mawten, located about 6 kilometres from Mawkyrwat district headquarters, at a cost of ₹2.19 crore.
The proposal was finalized following due process, including expressions of interest, site inspections, and recommendations by the district administration. Funds for the land bank had already been allocated when the district was created and have been available with the district administration for several years.
The creation of this land bank will support the planned development of administrative infrastructure and government facilities in South West Khasi Hills district.
