Nongstoin, Sept 30: The Office of the Deputy Commissioner, West Khasi Hills District, Nongstoin, has taken serious cognizance of allegations relating to the recruitment for the post of Staff Nurse at MCH Hospital, Nongstoin.
In its official response to the representation submitted by the VPP State Youth Wing, the Office stated that integrity, transparency and meritocracy in the recruitment process are of paramount importance to the District Administration, and that any act of corruption or illegal demand will be dealt with strictly in accordance with law.
A Formal Inquiry Committee has been constituted comprising Shri H. Kharkongor, MPS, Superintendent of Police, West Khasi Hills District, Nongstoin, and Shri E. Lyngdoh, MCS, AC & Executive Magistrate, West Khasi Hills District, Nongstoin. No result or final selection list will be published or released until the inquiry is completed and the matter is thoroughly resolved.
Candidates and members of the public have also been advised not to fall prey to touts, middlemen or individuals claiming to influence the selection process, and to report any such illegal solicitation to the District Administration or the Inquiry Committee.
The District Administration reiterated that necessary action as per law will follow upon completion and submission of the formal inquiry report.
