Jowai, January 23: In order to ensure that the new eligible voters are aware on the usage of the working of the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) during the General Elections to the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly 2013 to be held on 23rd February 2013 the District Election Officer of West Jaintia Hills District has informed that EVM awareness campaigns will be organised in the District especially in rural and remote areas to give an opportunity to the voters to handle the EVM prior to the Election so that the voters has ‘hands on experience’ about voting using EVM.
He informed that the Campaign will be headed by the Nodal Officer in-charge EVMs and assisted by 4 (four) teams of EVM Campaigners and the campaigns will be conducted mostly at the centrally located place preferably in the major markets locations of the District under the charge under the EVM Awareness campaigners. All eligible voters are requested to avail this opportunity. (SP News)
