Shillong, Feb 4: The process of filing nominations for the ensuing Assembly elections picked up its pace on Monday as many aspirants filed their nominations here at the Deputy Commissioner Office.
Amongst those who file their nominations at the Deputy Commissioner’s office in east Khasi hills include veteran leaders and former cabinet ministers HDR Lyngdoh and Bindo M Lanong. Besides, new Congress candidate Mahendro Rapsang filed his nominations today.
Apart from them Don Massar , Prestone Tynsong, Banalari, A.L.Hek, Banteidor Lyngdoh, KenedyKhriem, Remington Pyngrope, Ardent Basawiamoit, Roshan Warjri, F.S.Cajee, Bhabok Syiem, Jemino Mawthoh, R.V.Lyngdoh And P.T Sawkmie also filed their nomination.
During the day, there was heavy rush in the DC office as hundreds of supporters thronged the DC office with their leaders to file the nominations.
The scrutiny of the nomination papers would be done on February 7 while the symbols for the Independents and unrecognized political parties would be allotted on February 9.(SP News)
