Nongpoh April 08: The District Magistrate, Ri Bhoi District, Nongpoh has promulgated an order under Section 144 Cr.P.C prohibiting earth cutting at Killing, Baridua and other adjoining areas causing damage to the land/road/lanes and also to environment degradation.
This has been done in view that earth cutting at Killing, Baridua and other adjoining areas are in rampant, besides being illegal is also likely to cause damage to the land/ road and might keep the life of general public in danger.
This order shall come into force with immediate effect and will continue to remain so until further orders.(SP News)
