Shillong, Oct 09: Meghalaya Chief Minister Dr. Mukul Sangma has said “the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly had passed a resolution unanimously urging the Government of India to constitute a boundary commission.”
Replying during question hour about the status of this boundary commission, the chief minister said “the Union Government was accordingly requested to constitute a boundary commission as early as possible to define the interstate boundary between Assam and Meghalaya, having regards to the constitutional provisions, the relevant notifications and maps as well as the historical, ethenic and linguistic linkages.”
Dr. Sangma said “however, formal reply from the Government of India is yet to be received. “
Urban Affairs Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh has said that “the services of the two casual employees of MUDA office at Byrnihat were terminated since their services were no longer required.”
While replying during question hour, Ampareen informed the Assembly that“there services have not been reinstated.”
Replying to a separate question during question hour, Power Minister Clement Marak have admitted that the department is aware that the people of Sylleibah Village is living in darkness without transformer since July 2013 He said “the transformer is being repaired and it will be installed as soon as the major reparing work is completed.”
Replying to a separate question, Deputy Chief Minister incharge of Education RC Laloo has admitted that the payment of teachers under Early Child care education have been stopped.
He however said, “the Project Approval board of the Ministry of Human resource development Government of India has not approved the early Child Care education proposed for the current year 2013-14.
Replying to a question during the ongoing autumn session of the Meghalaya Legislative assembly, Ampareen Lyngdoh said “there are Ten Government it is in the state and one private ITI.”
She said “only in East Khasi Hills there are four it is which are Government ITI Shillong, Government ITI (Women )Shillong, ITI Sohra and Private ITI Don Bosco Technical school Shillong. However, in West Garo Hills district there is only ITI Tura, in West Jaintia Hills there is ITI Jowai, in East Garo Hills ITI Williamnagar, in Ri Bhoi ITI Nongpoh, in West Khasi Hills district ITI Nongstoin, in South Garo Hills there is ITI Baghmara and in North Garo Hills there is ITI Resubelpara.” During her reply, Ampareen said “there are two numbers of trades in the Nongstoin ITI which is Wireman and carpentry.
