RPF of NFR conducts multiple rescue operations, ensures safety of Minors

Maligaon, May 03:The Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has once again demonstrated its unwavering commitment towards passenger safety and humanitarian service through a series of successful rescue operations carried out across its jurisdiction in recent days.

During the period from 24th April to 30th April 2026, RPF personnel rescued a significant number of vulnerable individuals, including runaway minors and distressed passengers, from various railway stations and trains.

In one of the major operations, RPF personnel at Dibrugarh railway station rescued 12 minor boys from a train and ensured their safe handover to Childline authorities for proper care and protection.

Similarly, multiple rescue operations were conducted at stations including Guwahati, Lumding, Kishanganj, Kokrajhar, Hasimara, Mariani and New Alipurduar, where several runaway minor boys and girls were traced and rescued.

Notably, at Mariani railway station, RPF rescued 3 minor girls, while at Guwahati railway station, minors were safely reunited with their families after timely intervention.

In separate incidents, minors rescued at stations like Kishanganj, Lumding, Dimapur and Kokrajhar were handed over to Child Help Line and other authorized agencies for safe custody and rehabilitation.

In addition to rescuing minors, RPF personnel also extended prompt assistance to passengers in distress. At New Jalpaiguri, a passenger suffering from breathing difficulties was immediately shifted to hospital for medical treatment.

In other instances at Raiganj and Barsoi, injured passengers were provided timely medical aid after accidental falls, highlighting the alertness and responsiveness of RPF staff.

These continuous efforts reflect the dedication of RPF personnel in safeguarding passengers, preventing human trafficking, and ensuring the well-being of vulnerable individuals across the NFR network.
