The NESO condemn the cold-blooded murder of six innocent Naga men

Shillong, June 11: The North East Students’ Organization (NESO) expresses our strongest condemnation of the barbaric, inhumane and cold-blooded murder of six innocent Naga men from Konsakhul Naga Village, whose dismembered remains were recovered on 10 June 2026 after they were abducted from Leilon Vaiphei Village on 13 May 2026.

NESO is deeply horrified by reports that the victims were subjected to toture before being brutally murdered and mutilated which reflect a level of inhumanity that is beyond comprehension.

The sheer brutality inflicted upon these innocent individuals has shocked the conscience of the entire North East and stands as a grim reminder of the deteriorating situation in Manipur.

The Organization extends our deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved families and to the people of Konsakhul Naga Village during this moment of immense grief and suffering. They stand in solidarity with the families who have been robbed of their loved ones in such a cruel and senseless manner.

NESO unequivocally demands a swift, transparent and impartial investigation into this heinous crime. Every individual involved, irrespective of affiliation or status, must be identified, arrested, prosecuted and brought to justice without delay. Failure to do so will further embolden those who continue to perpetrate violence with impunity.

For the past three years, NESO has consistently advocated for peace, dialogue, reconciliation and the restoration of normalcy in Manipur. We hạve repeatedly appealed to all stakeholders and authorities to ensure the protection of innocent civilians and to take concrete steps towards ending the cycle of violence.

Unfortunately, despite these appeals and despite the prolonged deployment of thousands of Central Security Forces across the state, the situation continues to deteriorate.

NESO is compelled to question the Government of India: How is it that after more than three years of conflict and the deployment of massive security forces, not a single accused involved in the countless killings, abductions, arson and atrocities has been effectively convicted and held accountable.

The Organization further expresses grave concern over numerous allegations regarding the involvement and partisan conduct of the Central Forces in the ongoing conflict.

Any act of complicity, negligence, collusion, or bias by security forces entrusted with maintaining peace and protecting civilians constitutes a serious betrayal of public trust and must face appropriate legal and disciplinary action.

NESO reiterates that lasting peace can only be achieved through justice, accountability and equal protection of all communities. The Government of India must act decisively to restore public confidence, ensure the safety of all citizens, and bring an end to the culture of impunity that continues to fuel violence in Manipur.

The Organization stands firmly with the people of Konsakhul Naga Village and all innocent victims of the ongoing conflict and reaffims its commitment to the pursuit of peace, justice and human dignity across the North East.
