For non compliance of the demand NESO will demonstrate at Raj Bhavan

Guwahati March 14: The  Executive Council cum Consultative Meeting of NESO was held at Gauhati, During the Executive Council Meeting, the house discussed thoroughly about the problems faced by the North Eastern States  as well as the Earlier Charter of Demands of NESO submitted to the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India in the year 2011.

The demand that the NESo submitted to the prime minister include, Education Policy & Human Resource Development, Repeal of all the Draconian Laws, Infiltration of Illegal Migrants, refujees- demand for a comprehensive policy thereof, implementation of Bengal Eastern Frontier Regulation, 1873 popularly known as (Inner Line Permit) system to the entire North Easter Region.

On the  Economic and Infrastructural Development –  concern of environment, Employment policy for North East, Indo-Bangladesh swap Deal 2011 & Stapled Visa, Special Constitutional Status and Separate time zone for NE Region.

After prolong discussion, the house felt that NESO should take initiatives in order to achieve the charter of demands and as such besides other resolutions, the following  resolutions were adopted unanimously by the house  the Resolution No.1 :A Sit-in-Protest demanding immediate fulfillment of NESO’s Charter of demands which was submitted earlier to the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, to be organized in front of  Raj Bhawan Gate of the respective states of NESO member units on 25th March, 2013.

Resolution No.2 :NESO team will visit New Delhi to meet the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India as well as the Central Leaders in the month of April, 2013.Resolution No.3The house further resolved that NESO shall meet the Chief Election Commissioner of India.Resolution No.4 NESO will have its General Council Meeting at Arunachal Pradesh after the NESO team comes back from New Delhi visit.(SP News)
