Shillong, Feb 09: The Art of Living hosted the Sixth International Women’s Conference (IWC), at the Art of Living International Center in Bangalore, India.
Over 800 delegates from over 59 countries are attending the three day conference deliberating on ways to create a harmonious and progressive society. Safeguarding and advancing the status of women in fragile and post-conflict states, and promoting the education of the girl-child will take the centre-stage during the conference.
Singing icon Asha Bhosle, First Lady of Sri Lanka Shiranthi Rajapaksa, BJP spokesperson Ms. Meenakshi Lekhi and UP Congress comitee, Ms.Rita Bahuguna Joshi, former President of Sri Lanka, Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga and Dr. Husn Banu Ghazanfar and Minister of Women’s Affairs, Afghanistan were among the people present at the inaugural.(SP News)
