JSU appeal to the residents of Daistong, not to succumb to fear or intimidation

Shillong, July 05: Shri. Neilkee Mukhim, the General Secretary of the Jaiñtia Students’ Union (JSU), expressed that after a meeting with the residents of Elaka Nongkhlieh, including farmers and landowners, they wish to appeal to the community, particularly the residents of Daistong, urging them not to succumb to fear or intimidation.

It has been brought to their attention of the organisation that the residents of Elaka Nongkhlieh are living in fear due to the threats posed by certain mafias.

Consequently, the JSU and JNC are calling on all individuals to unite and advocate for their rights. They reminded the community that their rights are valid and well-established, and that these rights are crucial for their future and daily sustenance.

Additionally, they reassured the community that both organizations will persist in their efforts to support and motivate them, stressing that they should not be afraid under any circumstances.

They also urged the residents of Elaka Nongkhlieh to raise awareness that even if the government exerts its authority, justice for their rights will eventually prevail.
