Awareness camp on Meghalaya Right to Public Services Act held at Rerapara

Ampati, August 20: An awareness camp on the Meghalaya Right to Public Services Act, 2020 was held at the Rerapara C&RD Block on Thursday to sensitise the general public and government officials about the provisions of the Act and the importance of timely delivery of public services.

The programme was organised by the Meghalaya State Public Services Delivery Commission, Shillong, in collaboration with the Deputy Commissioner, South West Garo Hills, Ampati.

The camp focused on creating awareness among citizens about their rights to access notified public services within prescribed timelines. It also highlighted the responsibilities of government officials in ensuring transparent, accountable and citizen-centric service delivery.

The programme provided an opportunity for members of the public and officials to understand the provisions of the Act, clarify their queries and learn about the mechanisms available for addressing delays or deficiencies in the delivery of public services.

The initiative aimed to strengthen awareness of citizens’ rights and promote greater accountability and efficiency in public service delivery across the district.
