General manager of NFR inspects Mariani junction and Jorhat town stations

Maligaon, August 29: The General Manager of Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR), Shri Chetan Kumar Shrivastava, carried out an inspection of Mariani Junction and Jorhat Town railway stations under the Tinsukia Division on 28th August, 2026. During the visit, he inspected the station buildings, platforms, circulating areas and various passenger amenities at both the stations.

The General Manager reviewed the cleanliness, upkeep and overall condition of the station premises and instructed the concerned officials to ensure proper maintenance and further improvement of passenger facilities. He also inaugurated 08 Newly Constructed Railway Staff Quarters at Jorhat Town in the presence of other senior railway officers & officials.

The General Manager also conducted a window-trailing inspection of the railway section, between Mariani Jn. and Jorhat Town railway stations, taking stock of the condition of tracks, infrastructure and developmental works along the route.

He advised officials to remain focused on safety and ensure smooth and efficient train operations. The inspection reflects NFR’s continued commitment towards strengthening railway infrastructure, enhancing passenger convenience and providing safer and better travel experiences across its network.
