Shillong, August 29: The members of the Union of Cook and Helpers, PM POSHAN, Meghalaya, called on Mr. James K Sangma Mp Rajya Sabha and shared the concerns they have been carrying for years.
These are the mothers and sisters of our State who feed the children every single day in our schools. Their honorarium from the Central Government has remained stagnant for decades and despite this they carry out their duties with such dedication, year after year.
This is a fair and reasonable ask on their part, and their service deserves to be recognised and valued in a manner befitting its importance.
The MP Rajya Sabha assure them that he will take up this matter very closely with the Government of India and the concerned Ministries. He also invite unions and associations across the Northeast working on this issue to reach out to me, so that their voice may be represented collectively at the national level.
