Shillong, Nov 06: Shri. Flaming B. Marak social activist has written to the state that Director of Corporate Affairs Shillong have issued the Office Memorandum dated.24.05.2019 wherein it was decided to give promotion to Junior Engineer to the post of Assistant Engineer to those Junior Engineer who have completed BE/E.Tech Degree.
It is stated that in view of the said Office Memorandum dated.24.05.2019 the selection Committee of Meghalaya Energy Corporation Limited have conducted the written examination on 15.06.2019 to give promotion to the Junior Engineer to the post of Assistant Engineer.
Accordingly the qualified Junior Engineers have participated in the written examinations and accordingly as many as 13 Junior Engineer were qualified and clear the written examination and subsequently they were promoted to Assistant Engineer.
It is stated that as per the Office Memorandum dated.24.05.2019 the written examination should be conducted to the Junior Engineer to give promotion to the post of Assistant Engineer once in a three years, however, it is learnt from the reliable source that there are post of assistant Engineer lying vacant in the entire District of Garo Hills but surprisingly your Department and Selection Committee have failed to conduct the written examination for Junior Engineer to promote to the post of aAssistant engineer.
The social activies Mr. Momin request the concerned authorities to take up the matter with the Selection Committee and conduct the written examination to give promotion to the Junior Engineer to the post of Assistant Engineer. It is also learnt from the reliable source that there are numbers of vacant post of LDA, Regular Meter Readers, regular lineman, Bill Clerk pending in different parts of Garo Hills in your esteemed Department.
However the Department have not taken an initiatives to conduct the recruitment process to appoint as a regular employee to the above mentioned posts, therefore I. humbly and most respectfully request your esteemed Office to initiate the recruitment process to appoint or to filled up a regular employee against the above mentioned vacant posts so as to enable the Department to function properly and smoothly and to give effective service to the citizens, and also to provide the Job Opportunity to the people of Meghalaya particularly to the deserving candidates/deserving youth who are looking for the Job.
