The BSF has taken a number of pro-active steps to contain the law and order situation in Tura

 

Shillong, June 22: Following the incident of molestation of a girl by some youth at Wadangere on June 21, the  Border Security Force has taken a number of pro-active steps to contain the law and order situation in the town of Tura, West Garo Hills district and the border areas

The BSF has intensified patrolling along the International Border; especially the communally sensitive pockets like Mankachar along the Inter-State border with Assam.

Besides, all possible assistance like shelter, food, security, etc. to approximately 250 members of the minority community who have taken refuge in the BSF campuses at Prahari Nagar and Dhanakgiri at Tura, and at the BSF outposts of Gasuapara and Kilapara were being provided by the BSF.

Meanwhile, the BSF is keeping a close watch on the law and order situation in the Garo Hills and is prepared to tackle any contingency.(SP News)
