Shillong, Septe 4: Meghalaya bagged three Skoch Award 2013 in the field of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) for best practices for smart governance conducted by the Skoch Group, in which Mr. A.L. Hek, Minister of Information and Public Relations received the Award from Mr.
Nandan Nilekani, Chairman Unique Identification Authority of India on the projects namely (1) Meghalaya Integrated Information System of the Directorate of Information and Public Relations, (2) e-Payment System of Taxation Department and (3) Integrated Financial Management of the National Information Centre, Meghalaya in a function held at New Delhi on 3rd September, 2013.
It may be mentioned that the Skoch Group is a Gurgaon based think tank dealing with socio economic issues with a focus on inclusive growth since 1977. Skoch group has instituted India’s highest independent civilian honours in the field of finance, technology, economics and social sector.
The Meghalaya officials attending the award ceremony led by I&PR Minister includes Mr. A. Bhagotia, Commissioner of Taxes, Mr. H. M. Shangpliang, Director of Information and Public Relations, Mr. Benos Lyngskor, Technical Director, NIC, Meghalaya and Mr. B. Kharsamai, Assistant Director of Information and Public Relations.(SP News)
