Shillong, May 01: A Study Visit to Meghalaya of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Rural Development and Panchayati Raj was held today the 30th of April 2026. The Committee was led by the Chairperson Shri.Saptagiri Sankar Ulaka, Hon’ble MP of the Lok Sabha and comprised of 24 Members of the Parliament.
The committee visited Shella Bholaganj C&RD Block to inspect PMAY-G and PMGSY RD schemes at Sohra. Thereafter, an interactive programme was held at Laitmawsiang village where the members had a dialogue with SHG members and scheme beneficiaries.
Subsequently, a review meeting was also held in Shillong, chaired by Shri. Saleng A. Sangma, Hon’ble MP, with officials of different Departments of the State Government and State Bank of India, SLBC Convenor and Lead Banks in East Khasi Hills District, with regards to implementation of various programmes and schemes in the state.
