Free stipendiary coaching and computer training for SC/ST in Meghalaya

Shillongh, May 21: The National Career Service Centre for SC/ST (NCSC for SC/ST), Jowai, under the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Directorate General of Employment, Government of India, has announced the implementation of free stipendiary coaching and computer training programmes for eligible SC/ST jobseekers registered in any Employment Exchange of Meghalaya. The courses are scheduled to commence from 1st July 2026.

As part of the initiative, applications are invited from eligible SC/ST candidates for admission into four free training programmes, namely: Special Coaching Scheme for Competitive Examinations, ‘O’ Level Computer Training through NIELIT, ‘O’ Level Computer Hardware Maintenance Training through NIELIT, and CCC Course on Computer Concepts. Selected candidates for the first three courses will receive a stipend of Rs. 1000 per month. The CCC course, however, will not provide stipend support.

The Special Coaching Scheme, with a duration of one year, will cover subjects such as General English, General Awareness, Reasoning, Numerical Ability, Current Affairs, Typing, Stenography, and Basic Computer knowledge.

The computer-related courses will also run for one year, except the CCC course, which will be conducted for two months. Applicants must have passed 10+2 or above and belong to families with annual income not exceeding Rs. 3 lakh.

Interested candidates may submit their applications along with necessary documents on all working days on or before 5th June 2026 at the National Career Service Centre for SC/ST, District Employment Exchange Office Building, West Jaintia Hills District, Jowai. Candidates will be considered for only one course.

Meanwhile, the NCSC for SC/ST, Jowai has also invited proposals from reputed firms and training institutes in Meghalaya for imparting the one-year Special Coaching Scheme under Shorthand to 80 SC/ST candidates.

The selected institute will provide training in General Awareness, General English, Numerical Ability, Shorthand and Typing and Basic Computer Knowledge to prepare candidates for various competitive examinations.

Interested institutes and firms with adequate training infrastructure and qualified faculty members may apply on or before 31st May 2026 to the Sub-Regional Employment Officer, National Career Service Centre for SC/ST, District Employment Exchange Office Building, West Jaintia Hills District, Jowai, Meghalaya. The selected institute will receive professional charges of Rs. 1200 per candidate per month.

Interested institutes,firms with adequate training infrastructure and qualified faculty members may submit proposals on or before 31st May 2026 to the Sub-Regional Employment Officer, National Career Service Centre for SC/ST, District Employment Exchange Office Building, West Jaintia Hills District, Jowai, Meghalaya.
