Shillong, August 31:Governor of Meghalaya, Shri Satya Pal Malik has expressed his heartfelt condolences and grief on the death of Shri Pranab Mukherjee, Former President of India.
He described Shri Pranab Mukherjee as not just a revered Head of the State but also a distinguished Parliamentarian, an able administrator and a fine gentleman. He conveyed his deepest condolences to the bereaved family.
Below is the condolence message by the Governor of Meghalaya addressed to Shri Abhijit Mukherjee, S/o Late Shri Pranab Mukherjee on 31st August, 2020.
“I am deeply saddened and grieved to hear of the demise of your father, Shri Pranab Mukherjee, Former President of India. In his death our country has lost a respected leader who was not only a revered Head of the State but also a distinguished Parliamentarian, an able administrator and a fine gentleman. His numerous contributions will be long remembered by the people.
I convey my deepest condolences to you and all the family members in this hour of bereavement. I pray to the Almighty for eternal peace of the departed soul.”
