Shillong, July 22: Meghalaya Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Shri. Banteidor Lyngdoh, took a cycle ride from the Meghalaya Main Secretariat along with Working President, John F Kharshiing, and General Secretary, Shri. Chiranjib Choudhury and officials of the Meghalaya State Cycle Association, inaugurate the selfie stand of the Meghalaya State Olympic Association, at Khyndai Lad circle.
As the nation awaited the opening of the Tokyo Olympics 2020 schedule to start tomorrow in Japan. Smti. W.A.M Booth, MSC, Director, Sports & Youth Affairs, and officers of the DSYA were also present during the inauguration of the selfie stand.
This followed with another function at the JN Stadium wherein the Minister Sports, inaugurated the selfie stand prepared by Department of Sports and Youth Affairs including distribution of prizes to the winners of the quiz.
The purpose of this selfie stand by the Meghalaya State Olympic Association and the Departments of Sports & Youth Affairs was to urge the citizens of the State to join the country in ” I #Cheer4India” and its 127 indian olympic athletes competing among the best in 18 disciplines and to allow youths, athletes, citizens of Meghalaya to express their support for the @WeAreTeamIndia through the selfie stands.
The MSOA has also announced a lottery with a cash prize for the three winners and requested the citizens to send their selfie pictures taken at the selfie stand to whatsapp mobile number 7005304227.
