Maligaon, June 27: In a significant step towards enhancing passenger amenities and modernizing railway infrastructure, Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has commissioned architectural facade lighting at Lumding Railway Station, transforming it into a visually striking landmark and improving its night-time visibility and ambience.
The project involves the installation of energy-efficient RGB LED facade lighting fixtures with programmable illumination effects, providing uniform lighting across the station frontage, domes, columns and other architectural elevations. Weatherproof outdoor fittings and cabling have also been provided to ensure reliable operation under all weather conditions.
The newly installed lighting system not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of the station but also promotes sustainable and eco-friendly infrastructure through the use of long-life LED technology, which is expected to reduce maintenance requirements while ensuring efficient illumination.
