Shillong, May 31: The Police of Shillong received complaint from one female resident of a locality in Shillong lodged a complaint that on Apr 28, 2026, she came across one advertisement in Instagram regarding work from home and clicked to the link provided for more information.
Following which, she was contacted through WhatsApp by one Divya Mittal and instructed her to install ‘Telegram’, to which she complied. However, later she found that she has been duped of Rs.1,300/-.
In another incident a male resident of a locality in Shillong lodged a complaint with the police that between March 2025 and Mar 17, 2026, one Sanjeevroy, allegedly cheated him of Rs. 12,36,000/-, on the pretext of providing him a job, with a salary package of Rs. 60,000/0 per month.
