Shillong, July 02, 2021: The Prime Minister of India Mr Narendra Madi, on the occasion of 6 Years of Digital India, he interacted with 8 persons in the country who benefitted from the Digital India Programme launched on 1st July 2015.
One of the persons with whom the Prime minister of India interacted was Ms Wandamaphi Syiemlieh from Shillong. She works with a Knowledge Process Outsourcing (KPO) Company called S10 Healthcare Solutions which is based in Dhankheti, Shillong. She initially worked for this company at Chennai.
However, because her organisation received incentives from the North East BPO Scheme under Digital India Program they could open a branch in Shillong. Ms Wandamaphi works as a Medical Scribe (called Physician’s Angel in their terminology). She is assigned to a Doctor in the United States of America. Her job is to help the Doctor in the US to fill their Charts and other mandatory documents, etc.
So while the Doctor examines a patient in the US, she simultaneously documents the transaction from Shillong and fills in the Charts on a real-time basis.
Her online document is simultaneously visible to the Doctor on his computer screen in the US. Her effective assistance enables the Doctor to complete the mandatory documentation and necessary prescriptions effortlessly and on time.
The NE BPO Scheme of the Govt of India will help boost the KPO presence in Meghalaya and other NE States. This will attract more KPO Companies to open branches in Shillong which will immensely benefit our talented youth.
The Information Technology and Communications Deppartment, Goverment of Meghalaya is also setting up the Shillong Tech Park which can accommodate these KPO Companies in Shillong. It has a capacity of about 1500 seats.
