Shillong, August 17: After a highly competitive start to the season, the Shillong Premier League 2026 will restart on Tuesday, August 18, with Meghalaya Police taking on defending champions Langsning at the SSA Stadium. Kick-off will be at 4pm.
Langsning won the season opener 1-0 against Sawmer, while MLP squeezed out a 1-1 draw against Rangdajied United.
Seven matches of the new season were played until the league was put on hold to accommodate the ongoing Durand Cup 2026, which features three SPL clubs – Shillong Lajong, Langsning and Nongkseh.
While Langsning and Nongkseh are both out of the Durand Cup, Lajong are still in it but they field a different squad in the SPL.
Most of the remaining SPL matches have been scheduled to begin at 4pm, though there are a few big ticket games that will commence later in the evening.
The single leg league will end on October 10. The Top 6 then qualify for the SSA Super Cup and the champions and runners-up of the SPL will also be eligible to participate in the SSA Champions Cup after that.
