Shlllong May 10: The Indian Red Corss Society, shillong observed the world Red Cross Day at Raj Bhavan to day where the Governor of Meghalaya also thePresident of the Indian Red Cross Society, Meghalaya Branch, Mr. R S Mooshahary presided the function.
The Governor congratulated. the awardees of the Lifetime Membership Certificateswhich was presented in recognition of the valuable social services rendered by them. He said that the essence of Red Cross Society is compassion which enables a person to uplift the humanitarian spirit and serve the people along with ones normal schedule of life.
He further reiterate that great leaders of the world too possesses compassion whih made them able leaders in serving humanity.
Futiher, Mr. Mooshahary called upon the Youth Red Cross and Junior Red Cross of the state to dedicate to the service of humanity for this can bring a sense of fulfillment and success in a person’s life in this modern world. He also looks forward for greater participation of thesociety in future.
Mr. S Kumar, Vice Chairman of the Society in his speeched highlighted on the guiding principal of the world red crosswhich is a wor1dwide voluntary organization and participate in universal, impartial and humanitarian service to the people.
During the programme, Lifetime Membership Certificates were awarded by” the Megha.laya Governor and Red Cross Flag was also released. Earlier in the function, Mr. S Kumar,Vice Chairman .of the Sorciety well come the gathering and Lt. Col. Vikas Bajpai, Honorary Secretary present the words of thanks.(SP News)
