Shillong August 8:The interactive session on National Population Register (NPR) was held today in the office of the Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills, Shillong with the various NGOs of Shillong in which Shri Sanjay Goyal, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, EKH, Shillong present the power point presentation on the NPR which is the comprehensive identity database.
The basic objective of NPR is to help in better targeting of the benefits and services under the Government schemes and prevent identity fraud. In the interactive session it was decided that the NGOs will submit in writing to the Deputy Commissioner, Shillong concerning problems and issues relating to NPR so that it can be clarified or discussed in the next session.(SP News)
