Shillong, Oct 2: Around 750 villagers from five villages in Mawphlang area inclusive of Men, Ladies and children were benefited from the free multi-specialty health Camp organised by the Eastern Air Command, Indian Air Force at Mawphlang village today spearheaded by Air Vice Marshal DC Agarwal, Principal Medical Officer of Eastern Air Command and conducted by the Eastern Air Command (Unit), Upper Shillong.
The Health Camp was inaugurated by Chitralekha Sharma, President, Air Force Wives Welfare Association (Regional) wherein a team of Doctors and Specialist from EAC (Unit), Eastern Air Command, AF Hospital Jorhat & MH Shillong comprising of various specialists in Medicine, Gynaecology, Pediatrics, Eye, ENT and Dermatology examined the villagers.
Screening for the detection of Cervical Cancer was also undertaken for the ladies. Laboratory facilities were also provided to detect Anaemia and Diabetes amongst the participants. A total of 750 villagers from five villages in Mawphlang area inclusive of Men, Ladies and children were benefited from the camp.
The Doctors and paramedics also educated the villagers about the various aspects of a healthy living and modifications for improvement in health so as to prevent diseases attributable to the current lifestyle. (SP News)
