Shillong, May 17 : Mr Jonathan Shylla, MCS, EM, Sohra Sub-Division lodged a complaint at Sohra Police Station that on May 15 around 5.45 pm, while conducting regular vehicle checking at Sohra Market Junction (EKH), one truck (ML-05E-9760) driven by Andreas Thabah was found carrying coal violating the order of the NGT banning rat-hole mining and transporting of coal.
The office of the Sohra Sub Division arrested the driver Andreas Thabah and the truck seized. The government of Meghalaya has instructed All District Administration to stop all truck caring coal from the state of Meghalaya to take out side the state.(SP News)
