Guwahati,Feb 24: The president of All Bodo Students Union Promod Bodo,today said alleged that Assam Chief Minister, Tarun Gogoi,is anti Tribal and at the same time the UPA government has totally failed to address the issue of separate Bodoland. This allegation against the Chief Minister has came in the wake of UPA 2 government creating Telengana, in the parliament this month.Addressing a press conference along with the the members of other five organisations including NDFB (P), The ABSU leader warned of serious agitations like 100 hour rail blockade that may be extended to 1000 hours if necessary to continue their agitation for separate Bodoland. The agitation programmes will start soon after secondary exams are over in the state.
Assam Chief Minister, Tarun Gogoi, on earlier occasions had denied of creating any further separate state when Telengana issue was on peak last year and also the separate Bodoland demand. Promod Boro, pin pointed that Article 2 of the Indian constitution has the provision for creating separate state, and thus Tarun Gogoi,s words against separate state is going against the Indian constitution. The Bodoland issue has been pending
for 47 years and there has only been assurance to address the BODOLAND problem but nothing concrete has taken shape. ” The North and south India had got their demands fulfilled but since we belong to the North East our demands are still languishing,and this time “NO BODO LAND NO VOTE” added Bodo.(SP News)
