Shillong, Nov 15: The District transport officer of the South Garo Hills District, Baghmara has lodge the complaint with the police that he has received a demand not from the militant out fit the GNLA.
The state government official in his complaint said that in the letter the militant out fit has demanded from the officer Rs.5 lakh. The police is investigating the matter to ascertain the fact weather the demand was from the GNLA or some one impersonate as GNLA.
Shri Watseng M. Sangma lodged a complaint that he received one closed cover which contained one 7.62 live ammunition and a demand note for Rs. 15 lakh in the name of UALA. again on the 1 & 12, of this month he received SMS text in which the sender demanded Rs. 5 lakh instead of Rs. 15 lakh and also threatened him with dire consequences.(SP News)
