Shillong, June 07: The governor of Meghalaya Mr Ranjit Shekhar Mooshahary has not given any clear cut solution to the CMJ university imbroglio to the Khasi Student Union (KSU) who met him today at Raj Bhavan, to solved the problem face by the student who study in the university.
Talking to media person after meeting the governor, the president of the KSU Mr Daniel Khyriem said that in the discussion the governor has not given any cleat cut assurance, but he said that will request others private university to admit them in their University.
In the meeting the KSU president inform that, the governor has assured them that since the Union minister for human resources development is in Shillong he will take up the matter with the Union Minister on the CMJ University.
In the meeting the KSU has express their views that the state government should monitor closely to these existing private University which are still function in Meghalaya, they should not be like CMJ University.
What concern them most is that the image of Meghalaya has been badly tarnish, which may affect also the name and fame of the North Eastern Hills University. The Government should closely monitor and see that the sanctity of education should be maintained.
The KSU has put forwards to the governor if the student that will be admitted in others university and if the same thing happens with them like what has happen to the CMJ University who will take the responsibility.
Members of the CMJ University who where also met the Governor along with the KSU delegation, Mr Jitu Dutta a student of the University said they where worried about their future and the agony that they have to face. In the meeting today the governor has not given them any clear assurance.
Mr Thia Jamir who is also part of the delegation said that from the discussion today it’s appear that if the CMJ University sent the name of a person to be appointed as the chancellors of the university the degree issued by the university could be revalidated. But till today the CMJ University has not sent any proposal.(SP News)
