Shillong, Sept 25: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) expressed its deep concern over the law and order situation in the State and is shocked that the Chief Minister is only speaking tough in the Media and soft at the ground.
According to the press release undersigned by the General Secretary of BJP (Meghalaya) Dipayan Chakraborty, states that, “Four innocent people were killed in his own constituency but no action has been taken by him and his Government. The BJP state unit condemned the killing in Ampati. The Rape accused Nurul Islam a Meghalaya Police officer, accused of raping two minor girls in the Assembly constituency of Chief Minister Mukul Sangma, is still on the run, police failed to arrest the accused. Bandh has hit the economy in Garo Hills due to lack of taking corrective steps at correct time.”
The release also states that, “As forecast by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) the influx and infiltration issue will be remain unresolved because the Congress party is not interested to solve the issue.”
“In Meghalaya the infiltration from Bangladesh, smuggling of food grains and cows are regularly taking place, but the Congress Government at the center and state is silent on the issue. Now when the Pressure Groups has risen their concerned on issue of Influx and Infiltration the existing Government is trying its best to under carpet it,” the release reads.
According to the release, “The State BJP is confident that once the BJP achieve its mission 272+ in next parliament election and get Narendra Modi as Prime Minister of the Country, not only in interest of Meghalaya but in interest of the entire Nation the issue of influx and infiltration from Bangladesh will be dealt with firm hand.”
The five member BJP team from Meghalaya who met the National BJP President Rajnath Singh and National General Secretary (Org.) Ramlal on September 18th, 2013 at Guwahati at the North East BJP meet thanked National BJP President on behalf of the BJP members of the State for announcing Narendra Modi as the Prime Ministerial Candidate for 2014 General election.
During the meeting the BJP leaders also discussed with the high command about both the Parliamentary seats in Meghalaya. National BJP President Rajnath Singh has given patient hearing and asked the party leaders to work more hard to strengthen the organization of the party.(SP News)
