Shillong Feb 15: The Inauguration Ceremony of XIX PSPB Inter Unit Veteran Cricket Tournament, 2013-14 was held on 14th February, 2014 at the Shillong Polo Grounds. Mr. Rahul Choudhury, General Manager, OIL graced the occasion as Chief Guest while Mr. Gideon Kharkongor, General Secretary, SCA was the Guest of Honor.
Mr. Khirode Chetia, Senior Manager, OIL and the organizing secretary of the tournament delivered the welcome address which was followed by the introduction of the teams, match commissioner & the umpires with the dignitaries present. The oath taking ceremony was conducted by Dr. Deepankar Bhattacharya of OIL.
This was followed by a short cultural programme which added to the pomp and gaiety of the proceedings and also showcased the cultural heritage of Meghalaya. After the Meet was declared open by the Chief Guest, the inaugural match was played between IOCL & GAIL. IOCL won the match by 20 runs.
