Tura, Jan 06: On the intervening night of Jan 4 & Jan 5, unknown miscreants stole mobile phones and DVDs valued around Rs. 1,35,600/- from the shop of Shri Joy Modak at Mahendraganj in South West Garo Hills District and cash Rs. 1,500/- & Rs. 1,300/- from the Motor garages of Md. Sultanur Arman & Sultanur Arsad respectively.
Following this, the general public around 300 people held a protest procession on Jan. 5, 2014. During the procession, unknown miscreants pelted stones and damaged the windowpanes of MeECL office.
Later, a meeting was held between the public leaders and the District Administration to settle the matter. Police have registered cases for both the incidents.(SP News)
