Tura, July 17: As part of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Electoral Rolls 2026, the District Election Officer (DEO), West Garo Hills, Shri Vibhor Aggarwal accompanied by the Assistant Electoral Registration Officer (AERO), Booth Level Officer (BLO) Supervisors and Booth Level Officers (BLOs), conducted field visits to several polling parts under 51-South Tura (ST) Assembly Constituency on Thursday to monitor the progress of Enumeration Form (EF) distribution and digitisation.
The inspection covered Polling Parts 2, 8, 22, 29, 30 and 38, where the team reviewed the door-to-door distribution of Enumeration Forms, assessed the pace of digitisation, and interacted with BLOs regarding the implementation of the ongoing enumeration exercise.
The field officials were advised to ensure that every eligible elector is covered and that the process is completed accurately and within the stipulated timeframe.
SIR (Enumeration Phase), which commenced on June 30, 2026, is being carried out across all 547 polling parts in the 11 assembly constituencies of the district. The exercise has been progressing smoothly with active participation from the electorate.
According to the latest status as of 4:00 PM on July 16, 2026, a total of 3,72,082 Enumeration Forms have been distributed out of 3,96,914 electors in the district, while 1,86,521 forms have been digitised.
The District SIR Helpline has received 25 calls up to July 16, and all issues raised by electors have been promptly resolved, ensuring smooth implementation of the revision process.
The DEO appealed to all remaining electors to extend their full cooperation to the BLOs by submitting their duly filled Enumeration Forms along with the required supporting documents within the prescribed schedule, so that every eligible voter is included in the electoral roll.
