Ampati, July 21: The District Administration, South West Garo Hills, under the Chief Minister’s Catalytic Fund for Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), will organise a series of one-day enrolment drives for Birth and Death Registration and Aadhaar enrolment and updation across three C&RD Blocks to improve access to essential citizen services.
According to the schedule, the camps will be held at Nogorpara PHC under Zikzak C&RD Block on July 28, Betasing PHC under Betasing C&RD Block on July 31, and Garobada PHC under Rerapara C&RD Block on August 4.
The initiative aims to facilitate eligible beneficiaries in obtaining Birth and Death Certificates and Aadhaar enrolment or updation services at locations closer to their communities. Birth and Death Certificates will be issued on the same day upon completion of the prescribed formalities, while Aadhaar enrolment and updation services will also be provided subject to submission of the required documents.
Executive Magistrates, officials from the Certificate Branch, Aadhaar enrolment operators and other concerned officials will be present at the camp venues to provide the necessary services and assist beneficiaries throughout the programme.
The District Administration has requested the District Medical and Health Department to extend full cooperation for the successful conduct of the camps.
ASHA workers have been instructed to undertake extensive awareness and mobilisation activities at least 15 days in advance by identifying eligible beneficiaries, disseminating information in villages, assisting applicants in arranging the necessary documents and facilitating their participation in the camps. Medical Officers will also remain present at the respective Primary Health Centres during the programme.
The public, particularly residents of the three concerned C&RD Blocks, has been urged to take advantage of the initiative by visiting the camps with the required supporting documents for Birth and Death Registration and Aadhaar enrolment or updation.
The District Administration stated that the initiative is part of its continued efforts to strengthen civil registration, improve Aadhaar coverage and ensure timely access to essential public services across South West Garo Hills.
