Amapti, Sept  25: Government drivers from various departments of South West Garo Hills district attended a one-day orientation-cum-training programme aimed at strengthening their knowledge, skills and responsibilities while performing official duties.
The programme was organised by the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, South West Garo Hills, in collaboration with the District Transport Officer, South West Garo Hills, at the Multi Facility Centre near the DC Office, Ampati, on Thursday.
Drivers deputed from different District Heads of Departments and the Betasing, Zikzak, Rerapara and Purakhasia C&RD Blocks participated in the training programme.
The orientation focused on reinforcing safe driving practices, responsible conduct and adherence to traffic and transport-related requirements while operating government vehicles. The programme also provided an opportunity for drivers to refresh their knowledge and discuss issues related to their day-to-day duties.
The training was part of the district administration’s efforts to promote responsible and efficient use of government vehicles and enhance road safety among government drivers.
