Shillong, May 1, 2014: Along with the rest of the country, Meghalaya Joint Council Trade Union & Association (MJCTU&A) observed May Day by hoisting Flag declaring May Day at 12.30 pm at the CTO parking lot, near BSNL Circle office.
Speaking to this reporter, General Secretary MJCTU&A, JL Das said that presently the state is undergoing through the darkest side of the time which needs immediate attention.
Urging the government, JL Das on behalf of the association said “We have three main points to forward; first is the problem of load shedding wherein the students are mostly hit, secondly we demand immediate roll back of the rates of the electricity power which was hiked recently, and thirdly we demand that the state should have a strong Public distribution System (PDS) so that the people get the essential commodities like sugar.”(SP News)
