Fr. Benny in appealed all underground to stop kidnapping, extortion and killing

Tura, May 19: The sacred heart higher secondary school, Dalu today
held a special prayer service for missionaries of Ampati parish. The
institution has received a demand note of Rs. 5 lakh from A’chik
National Liberation Army (ANLA).
In the backdrop of which all catholic institution in Garo hills will
remain close tomorrow.
The catholic institution in Dalu, about 45 km from here today led a
prayer service for peace in Garo hills.
The principal of Sacred Heart Higher secondary, Fr. Benny Joseph in
his message appealed all underground groups to stop kidnapping,
extortion and killing.
“What a shame for Garo hills. It is true that many people including
the local people are fleeing for their life from Garo hills. It is
interesting to note that when an anti-social element is shot dead most
of the political leaders make noise but when number of civilians are
killed by these same anti-social elements nobody has any voice”, said
Fr. Joseph.
Terming that the underground groups are formed for making easy money,
he reminded them that  a curse will be on them and it will continue to
hunt their children and generations through various sicknesses.
He also appealed the militants to respect the human life and spelled
out a decision that the catholic institution with begin a campaign
