Shillong, March 16: The village authority of Mawsmai , one of the locality of Sohra has issued the notice that all tourist who visited the area should not burn the surrounding area which lead to deforestation.
The village authority has managed to arrest the Bangladeshi tourist and from Delhi who tried to burn the Eco-Park, as the punishment the village authority fine this people for breaking the norms set by the village.
The village has set up the Barefoot Environment Educator in collaboration with the soil and water conservation department to protect the environment.
The forest department government of Meghalaya has come up with the rule to stop wild fire but they fine it difficult to implement it.(SP News)
