Lecture and health Camp on mother and Child organized by the BSF

Shillong, April 09: To mark the world health day the Border Security Force  (BSF) organized the lecture and health camp on the subject“Mother and child care” and “Mental health and road safety” was organized by the Frontier HQr BSF Meghalaya, Composite Hospital BSF Shillong under the aegis of BWWA (BSF Wives Welfare Association) Shillong.

Lecture on “Mother and child care” was delivered by Dr Shailinia Syiem, Gynecologist, Composite Hospital BSF Shillong. Approx. 100 families of Officers, SO’s and other ranks of various BSF establishments in Shillong attended the lecture and were benefitted. It was emphasised that it is very important for the mothers to  take care about their health and well-being, the challenges faced by the mothers in the early parenthood and about the children’s health and well-being. A lecture on “Mental Health and road safety” was also delivered by Dr. M. Laneila, Composite Hospital BSF Shillong. It was stressed upon to have a healthy mind so as to have our roads safe.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Prema Gandhi, Acting President, BWWA Shillong underscored that Mothers, the newborns and children represent the well-being of a society and its potential for the future.  She also stressed upon the importance of road safety and its relation to the healthy mind. She appraised the efforts made by Composite Hospital Shillong in organizing the lecture.

It has always been the objective of BWWA to keep the BSF personnel and their families aware about the various subjects related to our daily life and their importance.(SP News)
