Shillong, May 07: The Superintendent of police East Khasi Hills District Mr M Kharkrang said that what ever arrest made is base on the evidence, and they never indulged in random arrest as alleged.
The Arrest of the two Khasi Student Union (KSU) members is base on the evidence that the police have with them. As per law no one will be released unconditional.
A seven days police custody lapse today and they are forwarded to judicial custody but one of the accused is sent to civil hospital for treatment. The SP also informs that till today no one from their side has come to move any bail.
The police have identify that four person are involved in burning the vehicle of the forest department. When the police raid their houses they where not found and even the parents also did not know about their children, but when the police asked to file a missing case they refused to do so.
While elaborating on the two days night road blocked call by the KSU on the 10th and 11th of this month in the East Khasi Hills District Mr Kharkrang said that elaborate security arrangement are made so that public will not suffer.(SP News)
