Who will officiate the chief minister office in absentia of Dr Mukul Sangma

Shillong,  July 16: The Chief minister  of Meghalaya Dr Mukul Sangma  is trying to figure up from among his cabinet colleague who will officiate as chief minister  in his absentia for a period of four to six month for his treatment to United State of America.

The Chief Minister who is not well will be going for treatment aboard and the state cannot be left out to take the rein in governance  on behalf of the chief minister who will carry out the day to day official functioning of the government.

Former Chief Minister  Mr SC Marak who is also chairman of the state planning board while speaking to SP News Agency said that, if the chief minister of a state is taking a long leave he has to entrust the official work as Chief Minister to any one from among the Cabinet minister.

The Government has got two Deputy Chief minister Dr RC Laloo and Bah Rowell Lyngdoh or he will entrust  to any one from among the cabinet minister where he has to give in writing and when the chief  minister returned back from his long leave he will take it over again.

The Former Chief Minister also said that he was also getting this news  that the Chief minister will go aboard for  treatment, if that is true he need to entrust  the responsibility to carry out  the official duty of the chief  minister in his absence.

He can only entrust  the work to any cabinet minister  not to non minister,  if a person is not a minister the Chief  minister has to be sworn in and all the minister  which virtually let to the change  of the government. (SP News)
